Hello! I have a sign identification question that I hope someone out there can help with. The sign is embossed tin, 13 X 27 inches, and is painted in three colors. Embossed in cursive letters across most of the sign is "Satin Oil", below which is the phrase in quotes, "Guaranteed Paraffin Oil." Most striking is the logo and catch phrase in the top left corner: A blue salamander is surrounded by "Lives In Fire / Like The Salamander."
Does anyone have any insight as to the maker of this sign? I have checked through Bruner's "Gasoline Treasures" book, "Oil Company Signs" by Benjamin and Henderson as well as a number of books with pre-war gas station photgraphy. I have also searched extensively on the internet. I would think the sign is from the 1920's.
Any help you can give is greatly appreciated--thanks!
