I always get a chuckle when guys come to my pump junk yard and they ask "there's no snakes around here. ..is there? Why no, why would you think there is any around here?..is my standard answer.....there is a creek, tall grass, trees, old buildings and mice, snakes, what snakes?

I was parting out a Bennett 810 visible. When I started cutting the pipes with my Sawzall there must have been a nest of them in all the pipes as they flew out in all directions. I finished cutting the pump unit out and carried it up to the shop. There was some mud in it so I took the garden hose and flushed it out. As soon as I stopped hosing this little guy would pop his head out. ..lol. He wouldn't come out so I left it outside over night. The next day there not one but 2 skins where they shedded.

I keep my parts in a semi trailer that has shelves floor to ceiling down both sides but no lights, I just use a flashlight. I was in there the other day needing to look for a sight glass assembly and guess what was left for me to find? Now get this, this is the 3rd year in a row that I found a skin in about the exact same place. One of these days I'm not going to find just the skin, I'm going to be walking down the aisle and come eye to eye with this criter curled up sitting on the shelf waiting for me when I shine the flash light on him, that's when Ol Tom will have a heart attack. Actually these are harmless, good to keep the mice down.

Your are welcome to stop by for a visit. Just let me know a little in advance and I will make sure there are no snakes around.

Tom.

If you want to see snakes go to Narcisse MB

www.google.ca/search?q=narcisse+snake+de...AUIBigB#mhpiv=8

But there won't be any pumps there.

The parts on the shelves look clean and well organized. I don't think I've been in that part of your yard! :0)

You web site looks terrific and very informative.

Me and my kid where walking to the shop and he stopped dead in his tracks and a holy ****! came out and there was a rat snake that was at least 7' long. We took a break and watched him go into the woods looking for lunch. Ya, they give me the hee bee g bees but they are good.

Don't mind snakes. I have trouble with wasps. Those jokers are sneakier and a whole lot more "fun". Dave

Yes, they are harmless, it's that surprise I'm not to fond of.

They must be petro enthusiasts for sure, I could tell a bunch of stories with my encounters with them in the pumps but it just doesn't do the story justice without pictures and the reason that there is not any more pictures is because they are fast.

And you have to watch the nozzle receiver, a favorite home to wasps, those put the hurt on you!
