I have a Bennett 371 pump, Ser. No 1000 XXX 194921P that was originally red (Cheveron) I think. There was placed on this pump a round decal which was then painted over red at some time afterwards. The outside ring on this decal appears to be "flesh" color then a "dark blue" color within.

OK now...just how can I remove the red paint that was painted over this round decal without ruining the decal itself? This will be a "survivor" pump.

Good question. I am trying to get this spray paint off too.

When one of you figures out how to pull this trick off, I need to take notes , LOTS of notes !!!!!!

I don't think anything will get the paint off the decal without destroying it. The decal is the more fragile of the two Steve.

I've had success with taking years of paint off old decals using spray-on paint remover. Obviously you have to go slow and be careful but it works just fine. Keep a spray bottle with water (or whatever agent your particular chemical calls for) handy to stop the reaction if you get heavy-handed.
