Boy that would be a heck of a re-pop. That oiler oozes 90 years of use and credibility. However I have no experience with old Oilers except Wayne Gretzky and gang.

I'm definitely no expert but this one would have me scratching my head for sure. I don't pay any real money for anything unless I have reason to trust the seller these days tho...

I am definitely no expert on cans. But a 90 year old paper label that survived with oil on it and no nicks???? And if you zoom in the paper label ends abruptly on both ends of the bare spot and the edge and corners of it are perfectly straight and square without damage.
If you zoom into the back blank side and zoom into the lower left brown splotchy spot, you can see cursive writing or some sort of graphics from an old label that used to be there. Not sure if Pennzoil used fancy cursive writing - especially in the same area with block lettering, let alone on the same product (Why would the same label not go all the way around and have more info on the back, such as city, state of manufacturing?? Don't think they would put 2 labels on one can.)
I could be totally wrong, as I am no expert, I am just pointing out some observations as a devils advocate, that you may have not noticed.
No red flags on his previous sales or other items though.

Hey thanks for thinking of me and my wallet. In my defense I did look at it with my cell phone not the big screen where you could see the issues easily.

Plus I don't think a manufacturer (back then) would make a label where you have to turn the can to read the name of the product (plus no product info). It's a copy of an old Pennzoil sign.
Again, I am not a can guy, but I think it's basically a P.O.S. (piece of steel).
