This is a colorized photo of the Front Street Garage in Galena AZ on Route 66. I have been doing research on this building and its history since I acquired it over 3 years ago, and I am not done. HUNDREDS of hours spent and the one thing I always wanted was to see what this place would have looked like in color back in 1947. Well, Giesla Hoelscher (www.exploreandpreserve.com) and I have spent a vast number of hours making this a reality. I can honestly say about 95% of the colorization in this photo is spot on and accurate.

It sure brings it back to life seeing it in color. Best of luck to you with your project!

What a difference the color makes. Was that done manually or a computer program?

All in Photoshop. I know h ow to do a LOT of things.... this is one of those things I could not do (yet anyway) so I contacted a great asset to Route 66 and she helped me through the process. This came out truly better than I could have ever expected. It is not my 'working blueprint' on what the garage will look like as I am restoring it back to the way it looked in 1947.

Cool Ed! I've been following this on Facebook, etc. I'm not too awful far from you in SW Missouri.
