The pump of the month this month is the Wayne 70. I wanted to do another fairly common pump to keep the participation up. Last month we had fantastic responses. Way to go everyone! I think one of the great designs, simple, but yet eye catching. The Wayne 70 was first introduced in 1937, and they were made up until 1960. Although it was not really art deco like the Wayne 60, it is still a clean design. Some would say it was the successor of the Wayne 60. I am also going to include the Wayne 876, which is the clockface version.

Here is a list as follows:
-Wayne 70: 1937-1946. "Extenda-Hose" on cable. Came with 2 or 4 ad glass versions.
-Wayne 70-C: 1937-1941. Standard 4 ad glass pump with sight glass above face.
-Wayne 876: 1937-1946. Non-computing pump, 4 ad glass panels.
-Wayne 70: 1947-1960. Sight glass moved to top of pump with ad glass right under it, 2 ad glass pump.

This information is credited to Jack Sim and his pump book.

Post what you have everyone, and lets all have a good April!

Here is one of my Wayne 70's. Shown is the pump itself, along with a few pictures of the sight glass assembly, lighting assembly, computer, and even the pumping unit.

The top picture shows the computer of my brownish colored pump. The next picture is one of my favorite pumps in the green, my other Wayne 70. And the last picture is another Wayne 70 that I used to own...

Here is a picture of a "younger" me when I first started collecting gas pumps. I had a call from a friend about a pump that was out in his trees, that I could have for $50 if I would come and get it. I wasn't too interested in a beat up parts pump, but the price was right and I had the time, so off I went to get it. We pulled it out of the trees on a piece of plywood and I was extremely pleased to find one of the earliest Wayne 70's ever made. It had the oversized sight glass, and the pot metal window frames and was unlike all of the other 70"s I had ever seen. Jack Sims checked the serial number for me, and said it was one of the earliest ever made.
We looked thru his old shop for anything else I might like and were especially looking for the "light" that went on top? I was puzzled by the "light" part of his statement, but thought we had better try to find it anyway? We searched for over an hour, and found a few small items like cans and nozzles, but no "light"? Just as we were walking out of his shop, I happened to look up into the rafters and spotted a light shade on top of some lumber! The rest is history--I still have the "light", but it sits on top my Wayne 60 showcase. I had to pay extra for the "light", by the way! LOL

Great thread and photos! Here are a couple of Wayne 70s of mine. Thank to KW Frith for the CA tip on finding the Chevron Supreme original pimp still hooked up and working! The station lighter for it came out of Kansas found on a farm.
Happy Pumping,

Rob

Thou wilt shew me the path of life:
in thy presence is fulness of joy;
at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Here is one of the two Wayne 70s in my collection. It is a west coast pump with an explosion proof station lighter. The glass jar is missing.

Great second choice Braden. 70's have always been one of my favorites. Here is my 70 that came from a small airfield NE of Wichita in Benton, KS.
