I updated the Events page with events I have recently learned about. Get out there and see stuff in person!

Dan Mathews promised to have more pictures on their Web site later this week for the Ray May auction.

Thanks for the free plug, Bob

For my Oldgas brothers---regarding my show, the Frosty Wheels Car Show/Swap Meet......well....although we're real proud of it and it IS a good event, don't get all fired up and drive hours and hours in hopes of seeing a ton of petro stuff--you'll be disappointed. When we started this show in 99, I wanted to have good participation in the swap area from gassers, but it has never quite materialized. In all fairness, we have 10-15 vendors on average that show up with good gas stuff.
HOWEVER, if you like looking at nice cars(we will have over 100), new and used parts, cars for sale...then by all means come on!
Just wanted to let you guys know beforehand.

Mike

I hope someone can post some pics of the petro stuff at the Frosty Wheels show and give us a report.

The weather doesn't look so good for the May auction.

Prices for cans were STRONG at the May auction. A rare 5 gallon Johnson Centralene can let the way at $1700.

Oldgaser Jeff Johnson drove up from the Atlanta area to buy that can.
A Johnson quart sold for $500 and went to an internet bidder.
A Martin Re-Enforced qt with picture of a truck and bus sold for $200.

A nice Me-Te-Or quart sold for $50.

There were signs too.
A porcelain Buick sign went to an internet bidder for $350.

An extremely rare double sided tin Cougar Counrty sign went for a very reasonable $700.

A Kant-Knock Ethyl porcelain sign sold to an internet bidder for $2000.

I'm going to post a story about the Centralene can in the CSOTM thread.
