If the globe mount is made of steel or copper and threaded on it is real. If the metal ring is missing and you see threads on the base it is real

Thanks Stevo, so when I was reading from other sites and forums, they stated that if it's 6" at the base then it's not real and it is 6" at base when measured. Unless I'm not measuring correctly.

Your not measuring correctly, measurements would be with the ring on. It's real. Chris

In the style of crown that you have If the glass is flanged(not threaded like yours) and measures 6" it is a repro. Any of the crowns are threaded and have a steel/copper/aluminum "fitter" are real. But, with that being said, and if memory serves me correctly, there are older versions that have a script or arrows around the bottom band(where yours has "marbles") that have a 6" flanged bottom and are real. Also, you can do a search on this topic as it has been discussed many times in the past.

this is not always the case... they did repo white crowns with threaded bases. they should be stamped in the glass at the very top of the crown.
