was there, drove 5hrs one way. i thought everything sold high. got 2 items from the auction. the econmy seems to be doing good in ohio, lol. i think the red indian sign sold for 825.00, the 6ft hood guy sold for like 8000.00, the washed out purol globe was 650.00. prices were hi in my opinion, but that is just my opinion. what do you guys think of the powerlube sign?? i do not know this sign well enough to tell real from repo?? sold for 3000.00, i did see some repo signs sell as originals for big $$ chris

I was there. Prices were strong on the quality items. More common stuff was resonable. Repo signs and clocks sold high.
I only bought one petro item a Powerlube rocker can. I didn't look at the clocks as I have sworn off items with dials but heard others talking about them. Picked up an oddball item I'll post in BOTW

Thanks for the update guys...$825.00 seems like a bargain for the Rd Indian if it was an original.

Powerlube sign is real but is the Nesco version, its not as sought after as the wolverine version which has white outlining all the lettering.

I know what you are saying Wes but I did pick up a 5 footer pre 1927 sign this year for $500.00 CDN...so there are still deals to be had out there. you just need to find them. Looks like at this Ohio auction I missed another deal for $825.00!!!. BTW I love the 2 ft sign you have posted on eBay right now. Recently a person in Ottawa bought a sign off a local dealer, Aubrey's Collectables and Nostalgia. It was a 6ft Mccoll Frontenac. He needed to rent a trailer to bring it home. Ken gave him directions to a close by trailer rental business. He went to the business. When arriving the old chap asked him what he needed it for. Told him about the Red Indian sign he had bought. As his luck would have it the guy said I have one of those signs in the Basement of the business. They went down yo look at it. It was the 20x24 sign like the one currently listed on eBay except in mint shape!!!!! Long and short he paid him 1k for it. When he returned back to Ken's shop he had a huge **** eating grin on his face. When Ken asked what he was so happy about he told Ken the story. Ken offered 5K for the sign but he did not get it. Here is the website for Aubrey's. lots of advertising signs available and he is awesome to deal with...and he is very negotiable. http://www.aubreysantiques.com/

That 2 footer on Ebay right now looks like it going to sell CHEAP,,,,
I have bought as lot of stuff off Kenny over the years,,, I know him well...
That 17x24 on Ebay might go cheap too,it's the same one that sold at auction for the $825 ??? $1026. doesn't look too bad ??

Wow, some nice stuff. I would say most of this pictured looks like the real deal. I see 4 or 5 questionable items.

Some really nice soda stuff and clocks. Looked like a really nice Marathon sign and a few nice cans.

Wish I was closer!!!!

That was a nice selection. My problem is the longer I hang around Oldgas.com the more suspicious I am of everything. Especially signs and some clocks.
