I can't see anything on the auction page, but it can't hurt to ask... does your dad have any Miller Oil Company items? Starlite/Silent Chief, calendars, promos, etc.? Burford is right in the territory...
In any case, I'll be there!
Always looking for Texaco Canada, Supertest, White Rose, McColl Frontenac, and Miller Oil Co. info.

Strange, not sure why you can't see the pictures. That page shows pretty much everything in the auction.
I don't think he has any of the brands you've listed.
What's the history behind them? I don't think I've even heard of them before. I'm not the collector but I thought I knew a fair amount of history behind the old oil companies. Are they Canadian companies?

Not too surprised that you haven't heard of the company, it's pretty obscure. Bill Johnson (also of Burford) had a lot of Miller Oil Co. stuff... Here's a pocket history and Starlite globe: http://www.oldgas.com/shoptalk/ubb/Forum4/HTML/001471.html And here's a Silent Chief sign: http://www.oldgas.com/shoptalk/ubb/Forum1/HTML/006508.html As I find more references, the picture gets clearer! (I can see the photos now, but I don't see any Miller Oil Co. stuff. But there's plenty of other interesting items! See you there!)

Thanks for the history lesson Silent Chief! That's really interesting. Haven't had a chance to talk to my dad about that yet but I'm curious to hear if he knows about it. He's always collected Brantford items so I'm really surprised he doesn't have anything.
Bill Johnson has lots of nice pieces. I've always liked the Supertest Wonder sign up on the side of his barn.
Thermoman- I can't say about the absent bidding. I'd suggest you contact the auctioneers to see if you could arrange something.
