Those are definitely some very clean signs! May have to drop by your place sometime to check out all those great signs!

These are not as cool as those signs but I got some really cool magazine ads from 1923, 1926, and the early 30's. The Wayne ad is from Jan. 1923 and is very neat showing all the different brands globes. The Whiz ad is 26 with great graphics.

...you need to turn that O 90 degrees one way or the other wink

Dan picked that up from our moderator Alex. It does need to be turned 90*.

Nice score of the 10" X 15" Sky Chief, hard to believe you have two of them. Maybe a pump would be home to them.

I need to go check my garage....becuase he didn't get it from me....unless he came through town whole I was gone...LOL..and ditto on turning that 'O'so it is more horizonal than vertical....

Brought this home last night. Reproduction globe, but I have the stainless trip for the curved ad glass...just to find some in Iowa next week.

Awaiting a sign from the same spot tomorrow...that I think is awesome.

Griffin,

I see it. The three dots below his neck. That is absolutely fantastic that you have a confirmed sign from an old picture. I always look at some old pictures of rare or unique signs and pumps and wonder if 'it could've been mine.'

That is so cool that you have one. Great find.

I agree with Speedracer...so cool that you have the provenance behind that Cougar sign! Frame that pic and hang it on the wall with the sign.

Look/scroll above for the posts from TheGriffin and you will see them.

On a side note, I'm trying to figure out what kind of car that is in the old picture to guesstimate what year it was taken. Looks like a 70's or 80's style car, but I am having s hard time making it out. They obviously weren't selling Cougar gas then, but would still be neat to try and figure out.

I had found the picture on the internet. Never could date it. Funny thing is, that same sign (the other side) is pictured in the book Pump and Circumstance. No date on that one either.

Also, for thoes who don't know, this is an older post

Oh yeah, someone brought it forward from 2015! But still very cool story.
