My wife bought this Fry 17 from a friend for my birthday. Over the winter you guys helped me determine it was a 10 gallon conversion and confirmed I should preserve rather than restore, just scotchbrite and linseed oil. So with acrylic cylinder, repro Shell globe it is now electrified and beautifully anchors my driveway. Thanks to all who helped.

Looks great. I like it unrestored. In its currant setting I do not think it would look as good restored.

Makes a great driveway light. And yes, the GTO adds a lot to the pic as well...

Looks absolutely perfect in that spot unrestored. I agree with Matt, it looks better unrestored, than if it was restored.
I hope you took a little bit of my advice in your original post.
Pump looks great, -Steve

Yep, base concreted in and pump bolted. Discouragement to ne’er do wells and scoundrels and safer for grandkids. Plus rock wall makes it inaccessible to the stray rear bumper of cars lacking backup warning systems (like all of mine)
