OKAY OLDGASSERS, HERE IS THE CARLISLE SPRING 2004 VISUAL IMAGE REVIEW.

WHILE THE WEATHER THEATENED
US ALL DAY, MY BROTHER TED, OUR FRIEND STEVE (LOOKING FOR '65 MUSTANG PARTS), AND MYSELF WALKED THRU THE GATE AT ABOUT 9:30AM AND HAVING ROUGHLY 9 HOURS TO TRAVERSE AND LOOK AT 80 ACRES OF STUFF!

WHILE A BIT SLOW AT THE START, I TOOK OFF LEAVING THOSE GUYS IN THE DUST. STEVE A FIRST-TIMER NEWBIE TO THE CARISLE EXPERIENCE
HUNG WITH MY BRO AND FELL BEHIND. PUMPS AND SIGNS WERE EVERY WHERE IN ALL SORTS OF CONDITIONS AND PRICES!

I WAS NOT NEEDING ANY SIGNS (ALTHOUGH SEVERAL WERE TEMPTING LIKE THE PURE PLASTIC DISC), BECAUSE THE NIGHT BEFORE
I TRADED A COKE BUTTON SIGN FOR THESE TWO PUMP PLATES:

I DID MANAGE TO FIND TWO REASONABLY PRICED CANS THAT CAME HOME WITH ME:

THE REST OF MY SOMEWHAT TIGHT BUDGET WAS RESERVED FOR GAS PUMP PARTS WHICH I PURCHASED AT
PERGL, HAVING VERY NICE HELPFUL PEOPLE. I ALSO STOPPED IN AT PAST GAS'S BOOTH DISPLAYING MANY PUMPS ON ISLANDS AND OTHER ASSORTED GOODIES (THEY ARE FROM COCOA BEACH, FL)....ALSO NICE PEOPLE. ALSO DEALT WITH HAYES ASSOC. MAKING AN EXCHANGE FROM AN OOPS! PURCHASE DURING LAST FALL'S SHOW.

I ONLY BUMPED INTO ONE FAMAILAR FACE. MY NEIGHBORS BOYFRIEND WHO HAS A RESPECTABLE COLLECTION OF HOT RODS, CARS AND DRIVERS RANGING FROM 1930'S TO THE 1950'S! I WAS SURPRISED I SAW HIM AS THE 80 ACRES WAS FILLING UP FAST!

AT 4:30PM WHILE SIFTING THRU A TOOL TENT, THE ALMIGHTY RAINS CAME DOWN IN BUCKETS LIKE IT HAD NOT RAINED IN A MONTH! I MANAGED TO GET MORE LOOKING DONE BETWEEN THE SHOWERS, BUT BY THE TIME WE HEADED BACK TO THE CAR, I HAD ONLY SEEN ABOUT 90% OF THE ENTIRE FIELD.

I TOOK 109 PICTURES AND HAVE PROGRAMMED ABOUT 75 FOR THIS POSTING! SO ENJOY THE SIGHTS IF YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND, AND AS ALWAYS YOUR FEEDBACK IS GREATLY APPRECIATED AS THIS POSTING OF SO MANY IMAGES TAKES ALOT OF TIME!
THANKS!

Great pics! How were the prices on signs in general? Were they in touch with Ebay prices?

MY "DOGS" WERE STILL BARKIN' EVEN AFTER I GOT HOME! (SORE, SORE FEET!!!).

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE OVERVIEW SHOTS IN THE NEXT AND LAST POSTING OF CARLISLE SPRING 2004.

THE YELLOW STAR INDICATES FROM WHERE I SHOT THE ABOVE PANORAMIC OVERVIEW. THE BLUE AREA COVERS THE CAR CORRAL ZONE.

DCpate - The prices on signs were reasonable to unbelievable! Compared to ebay? tough call. I just like being there and getting caught up in it all, which you can't do on ebay!

Great pics Doc, but where are all the original globes? LOL
Did sales appear to be strong? Sure looks like there was a good variety of petro stuff there.
Thanks for the report.

Great job Doc on the report! Thank you.

Reminds me of the old Pate swap meet when it was held out at the museum. I'd walk for three days and not feel like I'd seen it all.

From the prices on some of those pumps (the ones I can make out) I would have been coming home with several new pumps! Gotta love those clockfaces!

Great pics Doc, You got them all. I think I can recognise most of the pumps and signs when seeing these pics, but I sure didn't take pictures if all of them myself, like you did! It was really great being there (wed, thu, fri).
Had some trouble with the security check when boarding the airplane...the BOSS didn't like my oilcans, thought they were flammable. All four of us in our group had to re-pack since we all had dangerous stuff in out carry on bags... we had to check another bag, and my cans got crushed :-(

Thanks again for the pictures!
Claes
