Good Morning Everyone,
We had a "red radar" storm go right over us last evening. Got almost 2" of rain. No damage, but we got the serious soaking we needed. And got a short-lived cooling period. Now back to hot.
Have a great Friday out there in Oldgasland

Good morning everyone.
No storms here today but hot, real hot, I mean really hot! Going to do stuff outside that is in the shade. Still hot. Good news, no snow to report.
Glad to hear you didn't get hit hard by the storm Jim. That's the kind of stuff we have been dealing with for the last month it seems.
Well I better get my butt moving while it is still tolerable, be comfy and safe everyone.
Have gas all the time

Morning all. Another hot day here on this side of Missouri. Think you’ve got a lot more rain up your way than we have on this side of the state Jim. We’ve had a few short bursts and storms but not near enough moisture came with them. The wife came home yesterday panicked with her car smoking from the right front. Brake caliper was sticking and had the rotor hot hot. So this morning I’m doing a brake job. I think it’s time to start looking for a new car for her but she likes this one so a brake job is a lot cheaper than trading cars. If she’s happy I’m happy. It’s hot in the back stalls of the shop where there’s no ac and the boat is taking up the front so I’d better get this done before it gets any hotter. Have s great weekend everyone.

Hello All... Woke up this morning and decided to take the day off. With people in the "holiday" mode, business will be slow today so no sense being overstaffed at the office.
I bought a screw base globe body last week from a friend locally, so did some lens swapping. I decided to put my Hi-Speed Ex-Carbon set on the screw body....then put my running man Super-M lenses on that narrow body, switched my 13.5" Purol single lens to a narrow body that only holds one lens due to damage to a mount hole on one side, and last put a set of Mobilgas lenses for glass that I had in a Capco on the wide body the Purol was on. Whew, nothing broken during the mounting process!! The thing I worry most about is over-tightening a screw and a week or a year later finding a broken or cracked lens. I always leave them sufficiently loose so there's a little play with the lens, but still worry about it for a while until they are settled in.
The severe heat watch is now a warning until end of day Sunday. We're expecting actual highs in the mid to upper 90's with a heat index from 100 to 110 degrees. I don't plan on being outside all that much, so I'm sure I will fare just fine. Have a good day all, Darin

Morning all, 98 degrees going to feel like 105 &110 the next couple of days they say.
Jim glad you faired well ,looks like that flag took a beating.
My plan was to head to the country and mow today but it got 3 1/2 in. of rain yesterday afternoon. Makes no sense to go today. Hope all is well there. Tornado touched 20 miles away ,but I guess if anything major happened someone would touch base. Hard to care for property long distance is the not so fun side of having a get away place..
Have a Great Weekend All.

Jim glad you faired well ,looks like that flag took a beating. Loyd, The flag on the wall is a thick steel artist's sculpture of a waving flag. Some people don't like it 'cause it's not a straight and true representation of our flag. We like it, but understand some don't. No disrespect is intended. I was going to put a petro sign there, but didn't want to advertise to the criminal element passing by on the road. Stayin' in the shade or the AC this afternoon.

Looks like it survived a heck of a blizzard. As long as you like it the heck with what others like or dislikes. Its not a real flag ,so your not disrespecting the flag. Yes the world we live in keeps us from decorating outdoors, its still a pretty great place to spend our time..

Gotta echo the hot and humid thread. Not as hot as some of you all, but temps tomorrow (and the next three days) to go into the lower to mid nineties with heat index 100 plus if the weather folk are to be believed. I have not stepped out of the house today. Been working like crazy on some projects in my studio...and will be working all weekend. That's why I'm not checking in regular.
But for some strange reason I've got this hankering for pickles...? : D

I think I will head to the grocery store tomorrow on one of my breaks, and get some...
BTW just saw an updated weather report. Temps to get to 98 tomorrow and over 100 for Sunday and Monday. So heat indexes will be much higher.
You all stay cool the next few days!
