This is a strange globe. There is no way to mount a lens. Can't be for oil and gas can it??

I do not believe that it is a gas globe. I have seen these used for a variety of advertising uses and they all were just painted on the outside. Dave

Just a 'canteen' globe.
Never designed to have lenses attached.
Designed to be etched or hand painted.
