I recently acquired this cast iron figure and I'm trying to get information about it. This Mr Drip figure is not the commonly seen money bank. It is not a money bank at all, but a 15-1/2 inch tall figure. It has M:Busch GmbH cast into the base underneath. It may be a reproduction. Even if it is, I'd still like to know who and when it was made, what is was used for, etc.

Yeah these are at every flea market I’ve gone to next to all the repopped Michelin cast iron stuff. Just like the Michelin stuff, someone got hold of an original mold and made tons of casts and even more molds. I think I’ve literally seen thousands of these, my pops picked up a pair at a flea market for five bucks as door stoppers, haha, about all they are good for. I’ve seen original ones out of France but haven’t done enough research into what the originals were made out of or what they were actually used for. If you see the originals, the differences are obvious. They were smoother, painted different and just look much better. Hope that helps some.

Looking for Michelin items + NJ oil company related items (Mohawk, Guardian, Whiz, etc) + animal-related petroliana + Gargoyle/Shell/Sinclair items

Thanks for for your input. I'd like to see some like mine, but all I have been able to find are the smaller 9 inch money banks. I have yet to see another 16 inch tall figure like mine. Can you show me an example of one?
