looks like its on a green tag right in front of you.
btw, might be best to look at the back of that sign before you think about buying it.
just a heads up.

Yes--tell me about the back of the sign, are you suggesting it is a repop? If so what am I looking for? Actually the green tag is not in front of me.Thanks.

I have only seen that particular sign in painted metal Frank as its not that old, but then maybe there is some out there in porcelain I have not seen, so just a heads up.
These days repops tend to be porcelain and have chips at every mounting hole, hard to describe the back, something you have to see to make a judgement call on.

Thank you. I have not seen one in porcelain either so kind of wondered as it is described as that. Good info.

Just found out the sign can be bought for $385.00 which seems cheap if it is an original and that condition.Thoughts?
Thanks.

...I've only ever seen painted metal, double-sided signs similar to this design...the colors look off, and the fonts are all wrong...the outline around the perimeter of the sign in inset, unlike the painted version - - - AND the 'V' doesn't have the color transition where the blue overlaps the red!

...here's a link to an original painted metal sign as I described:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-30-Or...ble-Sided-Metal-Hanger-Sign/273760061104

...compare the fonts used for 'MOTOR OIL', and 'Ask For' on both signs...I wouldn't pay anymore for the sign you posted, than I would for a purely decorative novelty piece...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
