I just acquired this Tokheim Lubester and really need some help.
Does anyone know what is the probable date?
Is this a rare piece or common?
It has one glass piece intact, but I need to locate a second. How difficult is it to locate these lubester glass tubes?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...thank you in advance!

Tokheim 340, circa 1923 or thereabouts.
Shown in the original Gas Pump Bible on page 270 (they show the 330 version- but it's nearly identical).
Valued back then (2008) at $2,800.00 - which I think is way too high even in todays market.
Almost exclusively used by Gulf Corporation back in the day.
Later . . .
Jim

Thanks Jim...the Tokheim 423 also looks dead on. What were the differences in the the 340 and 423 models? Steve

I have 2 other questions:
1) how hard is it to find the two missing oil bottle base plates...or do most collectors make their own?
2) I have a Texaco 15” Lubester plate that I am thinking about using on the front. To mount it I would need to put 4 mounting holes in the reservoir or the Lubester...is that they way they use to do it...looks like it would then leak oil?
Thanks for all your help!!!! Steve

...I've never seen original Texaco branding on one of these...if the pump towers have 'GRCO' cast into them somewhere, then it was a Gulf lubester originally...
...but, yes - that's how every lubester sign I've ever seen was attached...not sure how they prevented the oil from seeping out...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
