I am interested in this Gulf Diesel plate..It is listed on ebay.. Item #123915399261... How can I be sure it is real? Thanks

GOC pumps were very common and I know they used multiple suppliers for the many pump plates they needed. I am no expert with them, but I can sure tell you that the 'S' and the rest of the font is definitely different than the two real ones for sale here on OldGas. Maybe Gulfiend or someone else will chime in to tell you if this is fake, or a different manufacturer.

But for now, there are two here on OldGas, that you could buy that are real....

...all the signs posted look right to me...I have two different signs in my collection, just like these...pretty sure they were same manufacturer, just orders placed at different times...

...who knows? Maybe the original color separations were lost of damaged, so another artist thought to (or was told to) 'fix' the S, while they were recreating the art...


Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
