Hi, I have this really rare german VW Volkswagen can from the 1950's, only seen 1 in more than 10 years of collection
I wanted to trade it but I was asked the price, so for the value what do you think, according to the condition, rarity and being early volkswagen I thought 800 to 1000 $ would be the value of it

That could very well be the value in Europe but I
think if your looking for a value in North America terms
your looking more in the 150-200 range.


Wanted early tin litho signage.

I would tend to agree on this, possibly less. The graphics are quite plain.

i've sold a few of this type vw can the last couple years. they tend to sell for 60-$100. could be a bit more now I haven't had one in 4-5 years now...

Yeah, just one of those cans whose market value doesn’t translate well across the different petroliana markets. I wouldn’t see many people paying over $150 for it 😕


Looking for Michelin items + NJ oil company related items (Mohawk, Guardian, Whiz, etc) + animal-related petroliana + Gargoyle/Shell/Sinclair items

if it had some graphics on it (like the VW bug) it would be worh more

I have 2 VW cans (don't know the age of mine or yours) but there plain like yours

IMO - at 250. you would be doing good .. ... cool
