I tried Daves approach with tapping the paint and the decal was coming off with the paint so i had to resort to luck. I masked the decal off and hit the paint with acetone. At first this was not doing much but as time went on the paint got softer and i could scrape it off with a strait razor. i did nick the decal here and there using this method but it was missing quite a bit of decal from before the paint job so hey it looks like an old pump! Perfect! On the second door i got braver and hit it with spray on paint stripper, let it sit about 1 minute and as it started to bubble i took a wet dish sponge and using the rough side started wiping the paint off and rising with water. This got most of the thin paint off leaving the double coats and runs as they were way thicker. again i used the strait razor and peeled the now softer paint away. This proved to be way faster and did a better job. Again i did peel some areas off by using a razor but it definetley has a used pump look! Just some advice that may or may not be for everyone to try if you get into this scenario.....

Thats just some stick on letters over painted glass. It says diesel. I will use the pump to fuel my truck, ive just got to get it hooked up yet. I was going to refurbish a clockface for the job but cant seem to find a workable one yet so this one will work till then. The visible is already hooked up and dispenses gasoline for my other truck.
