I'm restoring a Tokheim pump, I think it's a 620. It has a shut-off valve for the gas hose. There is a rod going from the valve towards the bottom of the pump inside the pump frame. It goes to a lever on a casting and has a round stem with two flat sides that protrudes outside the skin. I can't find any pictures of what was bolted on the stem. I think it could have been an indicator showing if the valve was on or off. Does anybody have a picture of what it might look like?

Also, can anyone tell me the age of the pump by the serial number? (First pic)

Thanks Finaman

It could be a 610 if you have a pumping handle or a 625 if it had an electric motor. In either case you have the weighted handle on incorrectly. The weight should be on the left. I have literature on both pumps listed
on my website which should answer all your questions about it's operation.

I am not sure which model your pump is, but the Gas Pump Blue Book lists that the Model 610 was manufactured from 7-18-27 to 5-2-30 and SN ranged from 240,931 to 355,219 for those years.

If it is a Model 625 the Blue lists that model was manufactured from 11-28-27 through 2-11-36 and SN ranged from 257,537 to 450,039 during that span.

It also lists in 1931, the SN ranged from 385,918 to 413,552. If you make the assumption that equal numbers of pumps were produced in each of those months, you should be in the ball park, but maybe not the exact seat your pump was built.

Hope that helps. Neil

Thanks for the info Ron. I switched the handle to the left side as you suggested and my pump has a hand crank so guessing it’s a 610 model.

I looked at your website and see you have items for a Tokheim 610 and wondering if the sales brochure has the indicator device that shows whether it’s on or off. Or do you even have such a device? Also would like to see a picture of it.

Thanks again,
Steve

Thanks Neil. I think it would be a 610 manufactured between late ‘27 - early ‘28
