Just finished restoring a Tokheim 610 pump. It was in pieces when I bought it. When installing new skins noticed there was a shaft that protrudes outside the skin a couple feet below shut off handle. I thought it must indicate when gas to nozzle is on or off so I made a indicator from a strap hinge. Should there be a decal above indicator that says on - off or to car - storage? Also need to install a 6” x 7” porcelain lead sign. I need to bend it about 1/2”. Will the porcelain crack if I bend it? Also I have searched the internet for a Tokheim pump with a indicator like this one and haven’t found any is this a rare option?

It would help to see a closeup photo of the shaft you are referring to.

The shaft is under this pointer. It had a flat on two sides and was threaded in the center. I modified a strap hinge to mount on it for a pointer. It moves about 2” back and forth. So not sure what decal to use. ON - OFF or CAR - TO STORAGE.

The porcelain will surely crack if you try to bend it to fit. Order a vinyl contains lead decal and it will be perfect. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

The slot is for the "Nozzle Operating Pin." I have literature listed in the "Catalog" portion of my website. Ron

The flow of fuel is controlled by the black handle with the ball on the end; under the discharge pipe. the only way to determine what the Nozzle Operating Pin was used for would be to purchase the literature from Ron Scobie or someone that has restored a 100% complete pump could provide the answer.
