I recently purchased an auction lot that was mostly auto related but I cannot find any information online on this thermometer. It is made of porcelain with threaded base, reads "United States Radiator Corporation" to the side of the glass thermometer and has "Capitol" across the top. It also has a patent date of 9-13-21. My question is this auto related or something else.

My guess is that it came from a home with the old cast iron radiators for heat.
My brother is in the heat and air business and used to remove those from old homes when they would update to forced air systems.
He would accumulate the radiators, test and sell them to people who were keeping their old systems going. Some of the fancy ones he would have sand blasted and painted with automotive paint, those brought a premium!
Cool piece!
