Hello from Green Bay,
New members seeking pricing information has been a sore subject for some of the OG membership, because of prior incidents where their opinions were gathered and then the item was listed for sale on one of the auction sites. Kind of made them feel taken advantage of maybe.
Having said that, here is some information that will probably surprise your wife, but may also create a logical reason to sell. As Jim alluded to, one of those long standing experts in this hobby and certainly on this Old Gas site, Jack Sim passed a few years ago. He compiled years of data and photos of gas pumps, nozzles and sight glasses....and assembled that information into a book entitled "The Gas Pump Bible" which was published in 2018.
The tall pump is a "Guarantee" Model 117, commonly referred to as the Mae West pump and was made probably around 1925. The Gas Pump Bible has several versions of this pump listed at $2800. NOW before anyone gets too excited, that price is for a nearly 100% complete unrestored original straight pump without a lot of rust. Based on the photos, that is not the condition of your pump. IMO, that model 117 could bring in the area of $1500-$1600 depending on a buyer's inspection and what was all missing. The value of the shorter one is more difficult to guesstimate for me because it was not a factory modification. Great yard art and if the parts are from another Guarantee pump or other more rare gravity feed pump, there is value in those as well, my guess is $400 - $500. Understand that the cost to ship these pumps or for someone to travel to GA may impact what a buyer is willing to pay.
MY SUGGESTION: If you are going to SELL:
LIST THEM HERE on OG FIRST with better pictures
Have it be an auction format for OG members. Include a reasonable price that you will accept for the pump.
ALL money above that price goes to fund the operation of the OG site.
Just a thought.......
Hope that helps. Neil in Green Bay WI
