I’m restoring a little Gilbarco 906 for the wife for our UNC Tarheels room. Does anyone know who might make Collegiate fantasy globe lenses?
I found this image online of a repop pump done in NC Tarheels but cannot find any info. on it. I’d like to get some lenses like that or anything really with Tarheels logo. Thanks for any info. or ideas.

Michael...This should be an easy process....go to any print shop and have them pull up a TARHEEL logo....Any print shop should be able t do this...Make a 12" decal of the logo with the adhesive on the front of the decal. the front will stick to the glass lenses....Get two of the clear lenses either 13.5 or 15" Simply attach the logo to the lenses, and then apply the white backing (translucent)...this should work fine...Have used this process several times...good luck..Warren

Michael, we could certainly help you out, but Warrens suggestion is a great option that is much more cost effective. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out, and best of luck on the project!

I went to one sign shop as I have a set of plain frosted lenses already. They said they could make the NC decal no problem. The issue though as most of you know is the curvature of the convex lenses.
He said there would just be too many relief cuts and small pieces to add that it wouldn’t be worth the time.
Wouldn’t you run into the same issue applying it to the inside? And what type of coating are you suggesting for the inside frosted translucent look? I assume it’s a rattle can product?

Your vinyl shop must not be versatile with vehicle wrap vinyl.
Just doing the logo itself on a frosted lens is not that difficult.
A complete lens is tricky - but can be done.
However, a decal has a shelf-life of about 10 years.
Whereas a real fired lens has over 100 year usage.
We can provide you with a quote on the costs if you like

Jim Jim, Can you elaborate on the self-life of a decal. Is that before or after application? And what deteriorates after 10 years? Thanks, Randy

Before or after installation.
Doesn't matter.
Normal sign vinyl has an effective life of around 10 years.
Then the vinyl will dry out and crack. Outdoor usage will accelerate this along with fading of the printed image.
Printing with UV inks helps with the fading - but won't eliminate it.
