On a recent vacation to Arizona we took a trip on Historic Route 66. It was a blast. I highly recommend it. Still some old sites to see, even some old gas pumps!!!

Awesome.........

This was actually at the start of our journey in Golden Shores. It's actually been converted into a church!!

Inside the Route 66 Historical Society Museum in Kingman. Well worth the visit.

OK, some more eye candy...

A close up of the church pump, looks like a Tok 39

A close up of the pump in Oatman...

The wild burros in Oatman. They wander in town and you feed them carrots. They are all over out there.

Driven' down the Mother Road. This is the old portion, very desolete..

I'll leave you with a sunset. I'm standing in Arizona, that's the Colorado River, and on the other side, California.

Hope you enjoyed the ride.........

Seriously, if you have the opportunity, get out there and drive it. Already planning the next trip to see more. We only saw a small part believe it or not.

VERY nice photos and description.

Oklahoma has the most remaining stretches of the original road. I live in Central OK and always enjoy a roadtrip that leads me down the Mother Road...
