As most of you know, I am retiring as of December 31,2024. All of my collection will be sold at auction. The auction company is: J. Cochran Auctioneers in Boonesboro, Maryland. Phone: 1-800-310-2844. The auction is only 2 weeks away. It will begin on Friday, November 22th. at 4 PM. and resume on Saturday November 24th at 9AM. All information can be found on the CochranAuctions.com site. There is info on the site with local hotel contacts who offer a special rate if you mention the auction, when booking. The bidding is online, in person and by telephone. Shipping is available. Over the past two weeks, we have moved out six car trailer and two box truck loads of pumps, parts, signs, cans, original globes, repro globes, polished nozzles, buckets of unrestored brass and aluminum nozzles. There are over 150 unrestored gas pumps. Several rat rod like units and even one fully restored Gilbarco 900 to Mohawk gasoline. As some of you also know, I was a builder for years. I have included some of my no longer needed tools in the sale. There is absolutely no reserve on any of these items. Everything sells to the highest bidder. The auctioneer will be back in the coming week to complete the move out. Still another four loads to go? Once everything is in place, the site will have a catalog of everything showing the item and number. A great help in bidding online. I have enjoyed the hunt for all of these treasures over the past 30 years or so. It is time for others to find fun in the hobby through my endeavors. There is sure to be something for everybody? Please have a look and happy bidding. With best regards, Paul Hittle www.severngaspumps.com J.G.Cochran Auctioneers and Associates LTD., 7704 Mapleville Rd., Boonesboro, MD. 21713-2844

Your longevity and first hand experiences will be quickly missed. Is there an appraisal/validation service in your immediate future? Seldom is there a collector, restorer and hobby expert available in one, you are it Paul. Miss your skill set already.... Neil

Jim, thanks for the auction link.....Neil, Before I started building gas pumps, I built street rods for fun. I am now working on a '36 Chevy two door sedan with a SBC which has a ways to go. That will be my direction for the future. I will always be here to answer questions and help out in the hobby. I appreciate the kind words and know you guys will be fine without this "grouchy old dude". Regards, Paul

The auctioneer just called as he is setting up for the sale and wanted to let me know that he has started posting pictures. Nothing is in order but it will give you an early look. More to come. He has six guys working full time and all are wondering where we got so much stuff? Paul

Catalog is almost done. Friday pictures are up now. Auctioneer counted the units on hand and he said there are 251 gas pumps in the sale. Not all are complete though. Regards, Paul

Brady, It was my pleasure. Your wife is a lovely person. The sale was a Hoot and a Half! Saw a lot of old friends and met some new ones. Cochran Auctioneers are a class act and handled things beautifully. I highly recommend them for their professionalism. See you down the road. Paul
