I recently purchased this 30 inch double sided porcelain Gulf sign. I found a 20 year old post on here that says that these signs were reproduced. Can anyone tell me if this one is original or a reproduction? Thanks...

IMO, yours is a repro. As said in previous post, blue is not correct

To the original poster: Let's assume for the moment that this GULF sign you bought is a fake. If you purchased this sign from a vendor who will take it back....by all means get a refund. If you can't get your money back, consider this purchase some to the education needed these days for anyone interested in buying (collecting) one sign or a bunch of them. Googling "Gulf sign" would have turned up plenty of reproduction ones available out there. That should have been a red light for you. Best of luck. John

Thanks for the input. It actually was in a group of signs that I bought from someone that had inherited them. He knew nothing about signs and never represented it as original. Fortunately it is probably worth more as a repro than what I actually have in it so there is no loss to me. Thanks again...
