OK OK , heres the story first, just got off the phone with my friend from L.A. area Blacky Blackwell, he says all was made possible by Dennis Griffin who has the other halfand Blacky has one half, of this rarer then rare sign. if you ever find anything from this small independent company you will be the luckist guy in the world.

STORY, a guy by the name of David , hes a handy man, yard cleaner, type guy. he was at a moving sell , the house had been sold and they where have a large sale, hes inside the house looking around and looks out the back window from the kitchen. and sees a yellow Pelican in the back yard. thinking a toy of some kind. goes out for a closer look , double sided. goes back inside and asks about it , if it was also for sell. They checked with the realtor and yes just get it out of there. the sign was half in the ground, in what looked like a sand box for children, he has to dig it up. so he gets it for ha ha ha ha . guess. ha ha ha , two of my friends end up with the sign and split it, this sign is worth about 25.000 but both guys want half and thats what there doing . each getting half and re neoning it. picture will come later. ha ha ha ha

DB,
Its gotta be from PDQ.
That was an affiliate of Chevron in the 40's. Do you have any solid info on the company history?

OK OK, you big bunch of cry babies ha ha , I know what you mean. been behind that house all them years and no chips to talk about. Bob theres not a lot of info on this company. I have a pencil from them and I just sent the info from it to Blacky to research, they had a large distribution depot in Long Beach, and a small refinnery in Bakersfield as did a lot of independents that could'nt drill for oil in the big basin of L.A. because of the Standard oil company owning the mineral rights , even Sunset tried drilling in the desert areas of Bakersfield but went Bankrupt. well I've tortured you guys enough. injoy.

one of a kind. near mint .
