I have a Utoco can with Amoco branding, and I’m curious to hear your thoughts on its authenticity. I’ve heard mixed opinions—some people have said it’s a “trademark protection” can, while others believe it’s a legitimate production can.

I was wondering if anyone here has seen this type of can before and could share their insight.

Eli asked me about this can and what I told him was that in all the years I’ve been collecting Utah oil items that I have never seen this can before . Now that doesn’t mean it’s not legitimate but in my mind it’s questionable .

Im no utoco expert but did amoco take over utoco and could use that name on any branding and is a kind of transition can? What i am pretty sure about is nobody would spend the money to make up a can that has very little value imo.

Wanted early tin litho signage.

I agree with Kim. Making a fake/fantasy composite can with no graphics would not be too beneficial to the repop makers. It’s probably a short-lived can.

You guys are right why fake a non graphical cardboard can like that , however people are buying them and also ask yourself why promote the Utoco brand after you have bought the company out years earlier. Does anyone else have this can out there across the country? Chime in
