Primarily Petroliana Shop Talk Forums Shop Talk Petroliana Forums General Petroliana Discussion #6 Dry Cell battery made in Canada.

Im trying to give this thing some digital exposure as I can't find any on line. The battery was used in old model A car's among other things. It dates back to 1920 the latest and if I remember correctly 1890 the earliest.
However unbelievable, the battery is functioning. its registering 1.5v and powered my digital calipers. I let ai examine it through pictures and just as I can see there are no indications of tampering no modifications. I posted a picture of it powering my caliper to ai and Ai essentially called me a joker "internet trickery" I found it in the far corner of my 1905 homes crawl space. Along with a few other items. The information i acquired is from known examples made in the USA. Information on my particular battery would be helpful. Are there any others out there? Im assuming gas stations sold them or advertised them.

Need a photo . . .

20s-30s era dry cell battery that could be in almost anything. Many produced and many still out there in barns and old shops. Mostly considered possibly toxic and usually not collected.
Pretty cool that yours still works. Old tech is pretty amazing if you look into it.
