Jack,
Great pics!
What is that sputnik looking thing in the background of the Harley's Garage picture, below the G?
Thanks, Wes

Wes, I believe that is a lighted sign on the next building down from the garage. Jack

Jack,
If you ever get by there again, I would definitely enjoy seeing a picture of that sign, too! I know it's not petro, but the sputnik is a lost form of roadside architecture from the late 50s - early 60s.

Hey Jack R If nobody has contacted you, I'm looking for a 6' Signal Gasoline sign if they become available. You can contact me direct at jiaccino@cox.net. Thanks, Joe

Joe, I spent about an hour this morning talking with the guy who is renting the old station. The station is now a custom cycle shop and according to the guy who owns the cycle shop the owner dosen't want to sell the signs or the pump as he is going to have them restored. Both the owner of the shop and station were told by someone that the signs are worth their weight in gold. The station is located in a historical area and the building can't be torn down or modified according to the shop owner. There were signs in the area on several other older homes indicating the same thing. I have the owners name but not his phone yet but will keep trying. Anyone have an idea the value on the signal signs? Jack

Well, they're definitely not worth their weight in gold. That would be upwards of $750,000 just for one sign, no pole...
