Hey Guys & Gals,
It's time to share the petro relics that we've stumbled across in our recent travels, and check out what other people have found as well.
If you would like to contribute to this feature, simply post the pictures here or email them directly to me and I will post them for you. Be sure to include a story or description with your submissions.
If it's too close to the next installment, please note that I may hold your contribution for posting when the new FATW comes up on the 5th day of each month. Send 'em in!!
Happy trails!
Wes

You don't see this every day... A porcelain FINA sign, peeking through an old overpaint: This little station used tobe a Phillips 66: Check out the pump - pretty nice shape!

Another quaint little station: Check out this Firestone dealership! Amazing architecture, and in surprisingly unmolested condition.

This place is a masterpiece. Everything about it makes it my favorite find to date. The canopy, the signage, the clock, and the overall condition are terrific! ARCO stickers are still visible on the pumps... But the sign, though it doesn't show up in the pictures very well, said Sinclair Gas around the clock. What an awesome building! Show us what you've found this month! I've got more, but since the weather's been so bad, I'm going to save the rest for next month. Now it's your turn!

Last Sunday, after dropping a friend at the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport on Main Street in College Park, GA, was this Pure Oil station, awaiting a new tenant. Later in the day on US Hwy 29, was another Pure station, vacant in Hartwell, GA, with a For Rent sign on the door. Any takers? TG ------------------ Luck is when Preparation meets Opportunity

Good point... The sign did have two hands on the other side, though: I guess you got time going West, and temperature going East. Wes

Lee Edgar took these 4 pictures of stations he found along a 20 mile stretch of US 7 in Virginia just west of Washington, DC. Thanks for the photos and permission, Lee!
