Hey Guys 'n Gals!
So, it's time to share the petro relics that we've stumbled across in our recent travels, and check out what other people have found as well.
If you would like to contribute to this feature, simply post the pictures here or email them directly to me and I will post them for you. Be sure to include a story or description with your subissions.
If it's too close to the next installment, please note that I may hold your contribution for posting when the new FATW comes up on the 5th day of each month. Send 'em in!!
Happy trails!

Let's start things off with some Sinclair pictures... Tara got really excited when she spotted this bulk plant / office in Missouri. The place is still in operation, and the lady inside gave Tara a neat little Sinclair flashlight keychain.

Note the credit cards sign... It sure looks like it's an older sign, painted over... [This message has been edited by thermactor (edited 02-05-2007).]

Neat air/water pole still intact, but unused... Here's a cool oil delivery truck we spotted: Tara was very happy to see that Sinclair is alive and well in Missouri...

Check out this thing! I THINK it's an island light... Here's why I think that... The Conoco sign looks to be in great shape. Here's a Bowser square visible in an antique store. A Mexican version??

Seeing those plastic Sincliar signs remimded me of a plastic Sinclair pole sign about 20 min from me that has been painted over. I will have to make a trip and see if I can get it. Forgot about it!! Thanks..

Wes, I have been enjoying this thread for awhile now. There are so many things around us that until it is called to our attention we don not appreciate it. Here is an old Socony Warehouse

Old station converted into a physical therapy office not far away from Soulsbyville, CA. I wonder if the pumps were original to the station... Gas station converted into a convinience store/newstand in Santa Cruz, CA. [This message has been edited by badgas (edited 02-11-2007).]

I WILL HAVE PICTURES UP SOON! IT WAS STICKER SHOCK CITY! BUT I DID FIND A FEW ITEMS. I SAW A COKE FISHTAIL SIGN FOR $550.00 WHEN I WAS BUYING THE SAME IN QUANTITY 22 YEARS AGO IN $20-$35 RANGE AT CARLISLE! :eek!: GOOD CROWD THOUGH.
THERE WAS A SIMILAR GAS STATION TO YOURS IN N. BELLMORE BUT WAS A SINCLAIR AND IS NOW A AMBULANCE STATION.

Doc,There also was the Filling Station Pub in Bellmore. I supplied him with a lot of gas & oil stuff for the bars decor. That Tok 39 over the bar was mine at one time.....CJ

WE WERE HEADING BACK FROM A SLIGHTLY UPSTATE N.Y. EXPLORE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WHEN MY FRIEND'S FANBELT BROKE AND LEFT US STRANDED IN ORANGEBURG NEAR THE JERSEY BORDER. THIS MORNING I NOTICED THIS ABANDONED STATION ADJACENT TO THE HOLIDAY INN WE STAYED AT: I FOUND AN OPEN SHED OUT BACK WITH PAPER DATED AS LATE AS 1999. AMAZING WHAT 7.5 YEARS WILL DO TO A PLACE! (ROUTE 303 IN ORANGEBURG, NY). ~DOC

ONCE WE LOCATED A GARAGE IN ORANGEBURG TO REPLACE THE BELT, WE DROVE OVER TO THIS MOBIL STATION WHICH HAS THE CLASSIC ROUND SHOWROOM/OFFICE STYLE ARCHITECTURE SOMETIMES SEEN FROM THE POST WAR PERIOD. ALTHOUGH HARD TO SEE IT WITH ALL THE CHANGES MADE, THE CONVENIENCE STORE HAS A ROUNDED ENTRY FASCADE: ONCE THE CAR WAS PULLED INSIDE FOR THE JOB, I NOTICED THESE TWO GEMS IN THE SHOP AREA: SIX FIL-PRUF BOTTLES IN THAT RACK! THE OWNER ALTHOUGH A FOREIGNER, KNEW WHAT HIS GOODS WERE WORTH. IT MADE THE WAIT WORTH IT! ~DOC

Thermactor, By any chance is that Sinclair station in Sikeston, MO? That's about 30 or forty miles south of me.

An antique dealer friend of mine gave me this 1912, pocket calender. It is not a great item, but is certanly a refining company I have not heard of. Maybe some of you oldgassers from Indiana are familier with it.it measures 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches
