Cool can Steve. Standard Oil of California, SOCAL (Chevron) took over Signal in the late 40s. I'm guessing, that label was used during the transition period, as SOCALs oil was named RPM at that time. The DELO is an acronym for Diesel Engine Lubricatig Oil. Nice find.

Nope can't retire but will bring $50 to $100 in that condition depending on the goofy can market and place you sell it. Hope this helps. I would just put iot on the shelf and enjoy. Ted

Update.....displayed this can in a friends booth today at a local antique show "BAM" gone in 5 minutes for 100 bucks.....tells me I need to educate myself better ! without input I received here, I probably would have put 10-12 bucks on it ! :-) Thanks ! does anyone besides me ever get "sellers remorse" :-) Z

Would you really feel better right now if you put 125 on it and it was still sitting there??

If you thought it was a 12 dollar can, I am thinking you did ok??

I think the 100 mark is a barrier on that can.. ie many will pay that and under...but very few would be in on the over 100 mark..

JMO.. the best case scenario even if resold again is..You made money, store made money, reseller made money, & end user is happy!! it doesnt get any better and you made the most!!
