Getting ready to pack up a few more toys, and thought you might like to see some photos. This is a Cast Iron Streamline Texaco Tanker. It's not one of those small ones, this is around 11" long and weighs around 6lbs. The tanker it's self is cast iron and also has a cast iron driver. The tires are white rubber (duals on the rear) Check out the detail of this baby, even has raised cast iron letters on the side of the body.

The next one is the same cast iron, only a Richfield version. On this one, they really went out with detail. All of the letters on the sides are raised in the cast iron. Even has chrome bumpers and chrome windshield frames.

A tin tanker made about 1920-early 30's. By "Strauss" out of New York. This one is a wind up toy. Great lithograph colors! It's very light, and amazingly survived little boys playing with it in the sand box. About 9"long.

The tanker is too cool! How do you find them in that condition, all the old toys I see around are trashed.

The cast iron streamline tankers were made by Tom Selhof, who is quite the artist. As I recall, they were made in '89. I first met him at a toy show and saw the Texaco tanker. I worked out a deal with him, where I could sell them for him. My motivation was to use the profit to own one for myself. They sold for $595. then. The last one I saw sell, was for $1,200.00 and that was about two years ago. I think that those of us who have them, would hate to get rid of them as they are quite the works of art. The Richfield is even nicer, with the extra work in the castings, but sold for the same amount of money. He did also make a "Gulf", but by that time, I was spending all of my money on other stuff, and missed getting one. The tin tanker by Strauss, should sell in the area of $250-$400. That would be at a show. On ebay, heaven only knows? it only takes two guys who want it for their collections, to set the new market value.

This is a restored "Keystone" tanker. This truck was restored for me by Bill LaRosa about 15 years ago in Richfield colors. It's one of the best I've ever seen. It "HUGE" 27" long...A "Packard" truck, it even has "PACKARD" across the rear frame rail. Here are a few of the cool things this truck has. 1- roll down curtain shade for the driver 2-headlites 3- crank start handle below radiator 4- raised brand sign on top of cab "Richfield" 5- moveable steering wheel 6- moveable levers on the steering wheel for the spark advance and throttle 7- two small fuel cans on each side of truck that are removeable 8-Ah-ooga horn by drivers seat 9-solid metal wheels, with solid rubber tires 10-removeable caps on the tank 11-old rivits around tank and edge of cab 12-hand rail around top of tank 13-cover in front of rear wheels that replicates the old "chain drive" cover. 14-a raised guage cluster on the dash.

This photo shows the rear of the tanker, with the delivery spout. The whole truck has wonderful old style signage and pinstripping.

In this image, you can see the workmanship of the interior, with the guages, hand brake, clutch, brake, and shifter. Even has a cool louverd hood. You also get a better view of the "rivit look" on the tank and around the edge of the "C" cab. For those of you who like prices, this truck cost about $1,200.00 to restore.

Doc, those are awesome and real treasurers. It must take some real patience to restore something like that.
