"COTW" this week is for filling station pictures of old and new stations. If you need me to post a picture for you email me at quarts@mindspring.com

Here are two pictures of an Imperial Refineries station in the town where I grew up in. The last photo is a station that is still currently in use in St. Joseph, Missouri.

I'm wanting to put up a replica porcelain station on my property in southern Illinois. Jarvis found this vacant Texaco station in southern Indiana. The panels weren't for sale, but I could have had them in exchange for demolishing the the building (including concrete floor) and the big canopy and pump islands. There would have been a lot of red tape involved with performance bonds, etc. It certainly wasn't cost effective either. Demo and disposal would have been thousands of dollars. You can probably figure out the rest of the story. They wouldn't sell me the panels, but the paid someone to tear the building down.

It doesn't get much better than this. Here's a porcelain Sinclair station from the mid-1950's.

This station was located south of Pendleton OR, it burnt down a couple of years ago. It was located about five miles up a step grade hence the name. Richard

Hi Scott, I was searching for some info on White Eagle statues at a museum in Augusta, KS and found this pic. I have a statue like the one front & center. Pumps are Tok 34's? The center one w/display case. I hope there's enough detail left after copy and scans to post to COTW Filling Station Pics.
thanks David

Just thought I'd add a couple of british stations, most gas stations here had pumps selling different brands at the same outlet, with the pump painted any colour with just the globe showing the brand name.It was the 40's before the corporate image started to appear.
The second picture from 1938 shows from left to right,Power,Cleveland Discol,National Benzole Mixture,Shell,Essolene and Cleveland Guaranteed. Also note the globes mounted along the wall,,,these wouldn't last too long now days!
