Can someone that's knowledgable about Gulf post some information about the signs that have been posted? Dates used, etc.

Something I've noticed on the old logo signs is the drop shading is different. Some has a solid light blue while others have blue and white stripes. And then there's the lubester sign with blue lettering and white shading. Can anyone shed some light on that?

I want to thank the crew at Aumman's for being such good supporters of our Showcase features.
Bob

I get a little confused dating the various signs with "shading". There is light and darker shading and some striped. Need an "expert" to finally clear this up.

NO-Nox Knockproof 1946-1950

That Good Gulf pump plate with removable/reversable price sign in the center. This small porcelain pricer had two different prices, one on each side. This pump plate probably dates from the mid '30's.

Charlie Whitworth was a GULF lover from way back he would of loved to see all these signs.Charlie authored two Gulf books he always had a big smile and was willing to give advice.Charlie passed away last year I though it would be nice to post his picture here for all to see.

This sign was first used in 1963.My sign is dated 1967 its 72 inches.

This LP Gas porcelain sign is from the 60's and measures 26'x40".
The holes are for the LP gas dealers name. The sign has a 1 inch lip around it.

Gulf dealer sign dated 1948 measures 66".

THANKS REX
