Hello all, New member here and have not quite figured out how to post images (not to computer savey here). I have a few pics of a Penn-Valley Gasoline globe that I would like to show and get info on. Hopefully someone can help me do this or talk me through it. Thanks

Here's the globe from Cops053, I'll leave it up to him to tell us all about it.

I found this globe in the grass behind a barn in upstate Mass. I have been trying to find info on it and/or a value for it. One side is in perfect condition the other side has BB holes in it but glass is intact as one piece

I'm no globe expert but anything with the independent logo is usually worth $$$. I'd guess the globe with one lens and original metal body is worth around $750-1000. Any other insight?

That is one cool globe. You should email Scott Benjamin about it, if anyone knows what the story behind it is, it will be him. Great to finally see a collector near me. I am about 30 miles from you. What other neat stuff ya got?

Heres Scott's site http://www.oilcollectibles.com/

Found it in Andertons Encylopedia of Petrolina, pg122. Lists a undamaged 15" globe with metal body $400-$750. Of course that value is 4 years old, but it will at least give you an idea. There is no other info in the book.

Welcome Cops053!
What you have is an Idependant Oil Men Of America (IOMA)globe, with the jobbers name (Penn-Valley)on it. It was likely used from 1925 until the mid thirties. Most IOMA globes with the thunderbird logo book for $1000-$1500 complete and in good condition. These book prices are a few years old.
