This is my buy of the week. This globe was waiting to find a good home. It survived years of having a notch off about 3/4 of an inch so it sat in the capco funny and then it was shipping in a box just big enough for the globe. Made it just fine and now has a home with the other 30 globes.
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

I don't collect pumps!I don't collect globes! So what does a non-pump collector do with pumps? Trade them for more pumps and globes! These are my "trades" of the week. Brought Dave Kois my restored Bulter and the Bowser curb pump and swapped for a bunch of globes, a few more pumps and a few signs (what am I thinking?) Most of the globes are repops, but I need the globe gurus to give me their opinions on the Dixies (believe to be original) and the Beeline (not marked "Reproduction" and no other marks). I have not seen enough globes to know the difference. Also not sure about the "Tankar" lense. A little Phillips sign for the barn. I won't bore you with pictures of the pumps. Got a Bennett 647 (I think), Wayne 70 and partial A38. A few small goodies too. Thanks Dave! ------------------ C Cragg www.poormansmuseum.com

------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hey Doc, Here's a United Motors sign I got Thursday. I was cruising around, looking for stuff and happened to come across this hanging on the front of an old barn. I asked the guy if he was willing to sell. He says well, it has to go sometime but I would need 100.00 for it. The rest is history, it's now hanging in my garage. Thanks for posting, Russ (TALK ABOUT BEING IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME.....)!!!

Poorman, The "Dixie" is a fantasy piece. Originals said "Rebel". That is one of the earliest "repops". If the Dixie Vim were original it would be worth in excess of $3000. Bob

I got several things in the last couple of weeks so I will just post the pictures. The first was a 5 gallon Fry from a goverment auction. The second picture is a load we hauled in about 20 minutes from the house. The fellow in the first picture is my dad Leon (Fred Sanford) Thanks, Phil "Lamont" [This message has been edited by philmccauley (edited 12-20-2004).] [This message has been edited by philmccauley (edited 12-20-2004).] [This message has been edited by philmccauley (edited 12-20-2004).]

Phil, Tell us more about the fire. I heard this story but all I remember is he was in the barn and it caught fire. He was an older gentleman but never been there.
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

The gentelman was from the Rough River area here in KY. The building he had all these in had a shop in the front and he apparently had a heart attack and died before or during the fire. The pumps were all in the back part of the building, the sheet metal is still in good shape but it melted all the trim pieces and computers. The 60 in the picture was already restored. The load consisted of Wayne 60, National A1, 2-Tok 36B's, 3-Tok 39's (one porcelain coated panels), Erie (not sure model #), and a Southwest Gulf pump. Also go the coke machine, 2 Willard battery racks, brake rivet tool on stand, some kind of tire bead breaking gizmo. Got them all from a friend here that collects locally and he did not have the time to fool with them. Dad and I are partners on alot of stuff and we bought these together for a great price. God bless the poor fellow who perished in the fire.
Thanks, Phil
