Here's a hard to find "Sinclair U S Motor Specifications Gasoline" globe. This version was used from 1933-1935.

Lets see some more!

Bob:

Great looking globe!

Anyone out there have a Sinclair Ethyl? That's my favorite. Unfortunately, the price of an original Sinclair Ethyl globe precludes me from owning one.

Question for the group on the GOTM post: Does this mean only globes we own? Or extends to those we have owned or would like to own?

Morgan,
You don't have to own the globe to post a picture of it. Just don't use a picture that is copyrighted.
If you know a collector that doesn't have a computer or digital camera see if you can get pictures of their globes to post.
I'll add some pictures of more of my globes later, but I hope some other collectors will share too.

Here are a couple of common ones that i have. The Power-X i bought from a lady that had posted them here on this site about a year ago. She bought a farm and the old gas station was being used as a horse stable and these were buried in the back of the station. The Supreum came from ebay and was one of the first globes i bought when i started collecting.

Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

Great globes John!
The Power X was used on both glass and plastic bodies. When this design was first displayed they had a question mark decal covering the face of the globe. My GUESS is the decals were all to be removed on the same date. This design was used from 1953 to 1957 when it was replaced by the Power X over 100 globe.
Thanks for sharing.
Bob

Thanks to Don for submitting this globe and Jim for posting it. Although this is one of the most common globes ever made, its also been a favorite among collectors for many years. Many of us can recall seeing Dino globes in use from 1961 through 1970.
Keep those pictures coming in!

Nice Sinclair Ethyl globe Seth! This is the version from the late 1930's, often seen on a Hull body. Anyone have the other versions they can share with us?

Not too bad for the first day! There are so many more though. Lets see some H-C, Diesel & Pennant globes. Anyone have any one piece Sinclair globes we can see?
I'll check in tomorrow to see what you've come up with.
Bob

OK, here's my Sinclair Pennant globe.

This globe has a hull body. Sinclair also used regular narrow glass bodies with lenses like these. This globe dates from the 1930 to 1933 era. There were different shades of red used. This one has the dark red background. Note that the flag touches the pole at the top and bottom only. There is another version where the flag touches the pole all the way down.
This is one of my all time favorite Sinclair globes.

Who has an H-C globe they can post?
