Not a 36B but just a 36, close enough? I restored this glass domed 36 to an original Signal scheme. These have 16 pieces that were originally chrome plated. Didn't want repops so went to great lengths to rechrome the originals. 5 trips to the plater for a heavy copper coat followed by sanding on my part. I did the nickel plate on the nozzle. Now all I need is a topless 36B for the other glass dome I have, maybe I can find one that's been ravaged by Dick? Vern

You did a great job Vern , I did one just like it about 6 years ago I used the red /orange color off the 5 gallon bucket like you have sitting there, the red color they used was almost the old Chevy engine block red, but the red you used is great too, I like it.

Yes Don, the guts have been restored as well. I like to hit the switch and hear that familiar sound. Next one I do like that it will have a circulation system, so it is really pumping something through the sight gauge, maybe a light hydraulic fluid or mineral oil.
Hey Jeff, yours looks nice. Do you have the sight gauge for it? These had one of the best, a cylinder within a cylinder.

Vern, I noticed in your post you want to pump something on the next restore ... at work we have to use flame resistant hydraulic fluid in our carts and it has a red or pick look to it. It would look cool. Let us know how that goes. John
Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

I have always saved any pics of restored 36b's that I have seen as I have an unrestored 36b. I have pics about 70 pics of restored and unrestored 36b's in almost any common brand. Name a brand and I will post it. Jason

Wow, Sky Chief, you've got my attention. 70 pictures of 36b's? I for one would like to see some or all of them. If I can help, let me know.

I hope Jim posts them, I would LOVE to see them. If I knew how computer stuff worked I would set up a site that allowed you to search 1) by pump model, like 36 or 850, etc. 2) allow you to search by brand, Polly, Texaco, etc. That way if you got a Wayne 70 and wanted to see what colors looked best you could see a bunch of pictures of only wayne 70's. If you had a company that you wanted to do, say texaco and wanted to see what pumps looked best in texaco you could search that. Not a full site, just a image gallery with thumbnails, man that would be cool. Think off all the ideas you could get, you could see 100 Polly pumps and pick the style, color, decal size, etc that you liked the best. I came up with the idea because I have a wayne 70 that needs to get done, now this 36. I am not sure what company I want, I know I will do a seaside and a polly, but what pumps to use I have not figured out.

Here is a 36B "Display Case" pump that I sold to a friend. He turned it into a showpiece! Looks like Dwaine might have some competition for his Seaside collection? ! This photo is of a 36B that I found on the internet and captured. Not restored, but an inspiration! ------------------ Don "oltoydoc" Sherwood Vintage Gas

Great pics, guys! They really gave me the itchin to get a 36/36B. I think the movie "Pearl Harbor" had a couple of these 36's in it. This afternoon on the way to work my wife spotted 3 pumps in a driveway in a residential area along a pretty busy street. I flipped a U turn and sure enough one was a 36B about 95 % there and pretty straight. I just knew they wouldn't be for sale. I had to be to work in about 15 minutes but made a quick deal on the 36B. I probably won't sleep too well tonight just thinking about hooking on to the trailer bright and early in the morning and heading back into town. Hope Dick doesn't snag the top before I get there. LOL Keep the pics coming in, guys. Thanks, Rod --------------------------------------------- in Nebraska where it cooled down to the 80's. Beautiful pump hunting weather.

Hey Dick, I picked it up at 7 this morning. Stop by with the doughnuts, Gaspump Rob and your DROOL BUCKET. I'll see if I can get some pics to Jim Potts to post tonight. Rod Also pictured is Rod's 2 year old Grandson (Kelton) with the Tokheim and 1930 Dodge. Edit to add Rod's images. I just love the pic with Rod, Kelton and the Dodge.
