I've always liked these "real life" image cans and thought I'd start aquiring some. First, I'd like to know the era these were used, as I always thought late 1940's-early 1950's. I have found only one similar can "real like" image in all my books and it's dated 1929 by the author. It is for Harness Oil. I sorta question that early a date, but could (probably) be wrong.
This particular can features a young Dick Bennett with his sister on the front and a bunch of cows on the reverse side. It says STANDARD OIL COMPANY with no divisions mentioned. The cap is embossed SOCO as you can see. Any info on these series of cans is appreciated. Thanks.
