Started stripping the doors on a Tokheim 39 today. I was surprised to find that one of the doors was porcelain coated! The porcelain is a little beat up but interesting none the less.

The problem I have is what do I do with this porcelain in order to restore the pump. Normally I strip them, prime and paint. Well the paint stripper did nothing to the porcelain coating. The red stripes (Cities Service at one time?) are porcelain and provide a slight raised bump. Should I try a D/A sander or sandblast the finish off? Or am I stuck with some bondo and hi build primer?

Any thoughts?

Im a long time lurker and infrequent poster, but I could use some help from the experts here!

Thanks!
Dave
