Does any one know what year this bike is? And a value?

Always looking for grizzly gasoline stuff, or any Montana gas and oil stuff.

The bike style was used as late as the 40's. I sold a similar one last year in TN for $275. Restored it can bring $500-650. If it had been a 'tank' bike the price would have been higher.

This one sold on ebay with shipping for over $300. 7 bids.

Elgin Skip Tooth

One of the reasons these bikes are popular is the similarity to early moto-bikes that became the first motorcycles.

As I said, if you had one of these with the tank, the price goes up dramatically.

Similar bike with tank

There are some pretty good online groups like The Cabe if you want to learn more about the vintage bikes. The Cabe

the first one sold for $152.50.
There is NO comparison between the 2 bikes. It would be the same as comparing a Texaco Firechief to a Texaco Marine pump plate.
There are many models of elgins and original parts are a must to get anything more than $100.

I am a long time member of the CABE and I rely on hands on bike transactions when I quote a value

Under-valuing the OP bike does a dis-service to Hotrod. And I'm well aware of how certain bike 'collectors' love to crow about how cheap they got certain bikes just like certain sign collectors happily undervalue signs.

The Cabe is a great resource if Hotrod want's to verify information on his bike and see what may or may not have been modified on his bike.

BTW, I fully realize that in certain areas some bikes might be a dime a dozen, but in many areas that is not the case unless you're talking modern kiddie bikes mass produced in China.

Finally, and realistically, I know enough bike guys in this region who would happily pay 250 without blinking for that bike, except for the old codgers who took them from rubbish piles for free or bought them for $5 40 years ago when they were more available.

PS - my post indicated the value INCLUDED shipping, which limits top end bidding on bikes online all the time.

Over-valuing the OP bike gives someone the false sense they are going to get double what they actually will.

"Worth" is a very relative thing. It seems that more and people just want to know what an item is worth. Way too many variables. Fair market value in this area at this time might be more accurate. Who is the expert on this at this time ? Dave

1930's or earlier. These are good for the modern 2 stroke engine kit.
