Speaking for myself, this web site and it's founder have created a place with a collective wealth of knowlege that is priceless to this hobby and I have been grateful for. Nothing is perfect but there is a much greater good here and I believe it has helped our hobby grow and also has created a much smarter collectors base. Knowlege is power and the more you know, the better you can enjoy your interest. Confidence in knowing if you don't have the answers, there is a resource that is available that will most likely yield results that can guide your future purchases, trades, or even sales. I can't on my own bring a lot to the table. But with all of us contributing something, the collective can be an awesome thing. Thanks for all of you being there to answer questions, be there to show my "finds" to when none are to be found near me and for listening to my point of view even if it isn't always right. I have made some great friends thru this site and have gained a wealth of knowledge.And made some very good deals.

thats says it all this sight is great having only been in this hobby for a couple of years i refer to this website everyday to learn more about the hobby and i have met some really great people on this site

Sounds great to me Dick so here it goes. I have learned a endless amount of information here from pumps to cans,signs & the list goes on & on. One of the best things I have benifited from the site is new friends & relationships from other people that enjoy this hobby. One of the other things that I got from this site is from Joe Yocom. Me & Scot Maxon both had a Bowser 410 clockface pump with no clockface in them at all. I was on the verge of parting out the pump. But Joe saved the day for us. Joe from scratch made both of us a clockface unit for the pumps. He did a A+++ job on them & saved 2 pumps from being lost forever. If it was not for this site I would not of had that done or met the wonderful people "or should I say friends" through here. I know Jim personaly & he is a very wonderful person to have made this site for us. He is the one who turned me onto the site after he bought a Zephyr clock off of me. So with all that said I say THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH & THANK YOU JIM FOR THIS GRETA SITE!!!

same here!i remember when i came here for the first time and i knew no one or nothing.over the years my knowledge has increased tremendously,and i learn new things almost every day.also the fine people who i have met,and many whom i have never met in person but still consider friends.thanks all and jim!! by the way dude,does your wife know about this greta?

I too have learned a lot. Without oldgas we would all be making more mistakes, some worse than others & some a lot more costly.
Without the Good side of oldgas I wouldn't have written this last year !

Thought about taking the St.Rod but would be cramped & very limited on space. Thought about the 56Chiefstar, but trunk ain't big enough. Hemibird has a tank full of oldgas & lastgas I put in chevelle smelled like an old boot.

Was hoping work would have been steady enough to get a cherry new truck. My 1st thought was nochevys, but after looking at imports, I've changed my mind. U.S.A. made gaspower TRUCKS for me !

OH WELL. I'm oldnfuelish so I'll be driving the roadrelics old Dodge, it runs on puregas & that's a little cheaper than souperhigh grade. This will be it's 7th year.

So I better get it checked out at MetroPetro.
Inspector66, starts by looking under hood, checks belt, checks hoses, adds 5quarts of blackteetexacogold, okoil is full, checks the power lube stuff.
Then a gearhead crawls underthun to check there, he grabs a hammer. BOO BOOM ! Says the thermactor is fixed. I ask what's it for ? "Oh don't worry, it won't be a problem now!". Almost forgot, he added 2 quartcans of anti-freeze.

I was going to Worsham the truck, but seems that every year I do, there's a thunder & lightning HolyTara gully washer storm before I get to IG.

Wife asked what I would like for dinner before I pull out. Let's make it easy, store bought BBQchicken & Radigan salad, sounds good to me. Then maybe have a little bowl of bonjimmi for desert. & top that off with abit of hotcidr, before getting a good nights rest.

Threw the mapper book in, might need it to find a few gasoildudes that live out in the sticks. Can't forget the Folgers, Iowa is Maxwell country.

Hope Jack brings the Deep fat fryer, heard it was the ONLY way to cook texaspelican ! Might have to have a few steiners of Beer & coldpizza to kill the taste though ! After the Beer is gone, I hope I can Stover to the hotel to sleep it off !

I found OLD GAS by just trying to find anything gas pump related on the internet. I knew know one else that was crazy enough to want any of this stuff!!
I absolutely struck gold when I found this site. Not that I made money in finding this lode. But I sure made LOAD of friends!!

This is an awesome site! I have gotten so much help and have made some great contacts who have been helpful over and over again. Its a whole lot cheaper than psychotherapy (been there and done that a lot a lot a lot) to immerse myself in a project on a gas pump. I think the pictures of pumps and collections guys have that they post are fantastic. Unfortunately, there are a few guys like Dick Bennett who need to have their wallet arm and hand chained to their respective waists when they go petro hunting--just kidding, db. Psst, you guys wouldn't believe the stuff he has... The guys who have nothing better to do than rant need to get a life.
