When did most oil companies switch from water transfer to vinyl decals? Also - What is the oldest original vinyl decal that you have found on a pump?

I do not know for sure but I think it was in the late 60s or early 70s. I had a NOS Chevron decal dated 1967 that was a water transfer and had a unrestored Gilbarco 96C that had the same style decal but it was vinyl.

...I think Pure was using them in the mid-1960's...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
