I have a question for you that have worked on old visibles. way?it on there some other put I'm working on my 176 square. I bought a hail guard off of ebay and not sure how to attach it to the pump. Does it overlap itself like what you see in the picture and just set there. Do you wire the overlap together with baling wire to hold it together? Do you cut it off to size and put it on there some other way. Help.. Mitch

I don't have a lot of experience with visibles either, but on the two that I do have the screen has a butt joint and is held together with three loops of wire. There may be other ways as well.

As Marshal states above, if it has a butt joint or overlapped, soft or in most cases copper wire is used to tie it shut. These were always attached outside the cylinder rods. Never next to the glass. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Thanks gentlemen. I had a feeling that is the way they went on but didn't know for sure. I didn't want to cut this off and mess it up. I'll post pictures of the pump when I get through with it. Mitch
