All this repo Texaco stuff going around got me to looking real close at my signs and pump plates. Every pump plate original that I have starts with a 3. Most except real early ones include a day after the 3. Most of the porcelain signs also start with a 3 except for my cosignee sign. The tin marfak lubrication and oil signs start with a 9 or 10. Anyone else know whats up with this or got some answers. Let me know. Ted

I have Texaco Sky Chief curved sign. It is marked 3.12.45 and made in USA. My later flat Firechief and Skychief are marked P&M and the year(one is P&M ORILLIA and year), they are made in Canada.

Ted -

I've got two of my Dad's old "CONSIGNEE" cab-door plates and they are both dated 10-3-56. I don't know if there was any significance to the dating system which The Texas Company used on their signage, or not. (Maybe it was something about the Moon being in the 7th house and Jupiter aligning with Mars - who knows?)
